Hot tubs

We can perform a load calculation on the house, which is essentially a math equation that tells us how much power your home is using. Before purchasing the hot tub it is important to consult with an electrician if your panel can support it.

Everyone loves at nice warm hot tub, especially on a long day or after skiing! Hot tubs have numerous electrical safety codes surrounding them, which is why you need a professional electrician to wire one up.

Most hot tubs are a standard hook up with 50 amps at 240 volts. All this power is required to heat the hot tub at an appropriate rate. Keep in mind that your electrical panel may not have enough physical space or amperage availability.

What to expect:

Great question. Depending on the current set up you have, that answer can vary. Worst case if that you will need to upgrade the service to allow for more amperage, which can get expensive.

can my panel support a hot tub?

Do we need to pull a permit?

Yes, anytime we run a new circuit, especially for a large circuit such as a hot tub, we need to pull a permit.

Do you service hot tubs?

To an extent. We will confirm proper power to the unit. If everything reads correct then it is most likely something inside the hot tub, which we do not service.
